I am very dissapointed in Buhari- Helen Paul[Must Read]

Read her piece as published on The Trent below:

The comedian and mother of two Helen Paul, writes down her views and disappointment in President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari recent statement that he cannot guarantee the safe return of the kidnapped Chibok girls...

Hmmm… it’s one year and some days now since the Chibok girls have been missing. Yet, the days are still counting because we have no clue about their whereabouts.

This is a very sad development indeed. No doubt, it was a disappointment that the outgoing government failed to locate and rescue the girls from the hands of their Boko Haram abductors.

As a mother, who knows what the pains of child labour and child upbringing are all about, I heaved a sigh of relief when Muhammadu Buhari emerged winner of the presidential election. It was not because I like him more than Jonathan, but because I listened to one of his campaigns, where he promised to bring back the girls if elected into office.

Perhaps, Nigerians elected him on that premise.

I feel that, at least, it will be a great achievement for whoever locates and brings back the girls to their respective families. In fact, whoever achieves that will be celebrated as a hero all over the world. But then, I have seen another reason to believe that all politicians are the same.

Their modus operandi may only be different. A few days ago, exactly when it clocked one year that the girls had been missing, Buhari broke my heart, just like that of other Nigerians when he said his government could not promise to bring back the girls! I felt really devastated because that comment was a sharp contrast to the promises he made to all Nigerians and the world at large during his campaigns.

Honestly, I try not to be disappointed because you can always expect anything from Nigerians, politicians in particular. They can promise heaven on earth during campaigns, but the moment they get to power, they promptly renege on their promises. Such is life in this part of the world where we find ourselves.

I tried to put myself in the shoes of the parents, relatives and neighbours of the missing girls, who, perhaps, solicited votes for the retired General after hearing his campaign promise that he would bring back the girls. How will they feel now hearing him say something to the contrary?

There is an adage in Yoruba that says ‘ omo eni ku san ju omo eni sonu lo,’ meaning that it is better for someone’s child to die than to be missing. I can imagine the different thoughts and imaginations that would have saddled the minds of those girls’ parents. If the girls are dead (which I don’t pray for anyway), the parents will mourn for sometime and recover, but that they are missing is another experience entirely.

12 Problems only Girls with big Butt Understand

Let's be real: There's never been a better time to have a big butt. Booty celebration is everywhere you look from Kim Kardashian's new Paper magazine cover to Omotola's Adorable Outfit to an event.

So now more than ever, most Ladies with a little (or a lot) of meat on their behinds are being encouraged to shake it, show it off, and embrace what they've got.

But Still, all of this big booty love can't erase the inevitable problems that come with the possessing them. Because with great power comes great responsibility, right? So below are just a few burdens that the big-bootied bear.

1. No jeans fitting correctly, ever. Either you can't pull them over your butt, or you wind up with a huge gap in the waist.
There is no in between.

2. All skirts and dresses are too short in the back.
Oh, that office-appropriate pencil skirt you love? It's more club-appropriate on your booty.

3. Forget squeezing between tables at restaurants.
Or aisles at movie theatres. Your butt is an independent entity that will wind up in the faces of anyone in the near vicinity.

4. Every seating struggle ever. Perching on a barstool leads to booty spillage.
You take up more than your fair share when sharing a seat. Sitting on someone's lap never goes as planned.

5. You've flashed a little crack more times than you care to think about.
Maybe you should just embrace this part of you and become a plumber.

6. People assume you've got mad moves to go with your booty.
Yes, your butt has its own gravitational pull. But not everyone with a robust backside can twerk.

7. You still have an embarrassing spiritual connection
Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back." What can you say? Back before you learned to embrace your curves, this anthem gave you hope.

8. Trying to work the cute baggy boyfriend jeans trend has two results:
You either look homeless or huge—and neither is a good look.

9. Your butt eats underwear for breakfast. There's no delicate way to say it. If you forgo the thong, it's permanent wedgie city.

10. Similarly, running shorts are a distant fantasy.
Unless you like your shorts riding up higher and higher with each stride. Yay, chafing.

11. Finding a cute bikini is impossible.
If there isn't a mix-and-match option, forget it. You have to pick between your butt hanging out or super-frumpy granny bottoms.

12. Guys are always grabbing your butt:
Not that you can complain, but c'mon, your girls need some love, too.

Justin Bieber got into trouble in Rome

Justin Bieber got in hot water yesterday while in Rome to shoot "Zoolander 2. He is wanted in Argentina in connection to not showing up to face charges that he allegedly got his bodyguards to beat up an Argentine photographer in 2013 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Several police officers were rumored to have showed up outside his hotel in Rome, fortunately for him, no arrest was made. Bieber is said to be on an Interpol list because of the outstanding warrant in Argentina in 2013.

Justin had to go through secondary search at Customs when he flew into Italy because Argentina had contacted Interpol and put him on the list.

Justin's legal team say there's a grace period before he gets arrested on the warrant which was only issued earlier this month.

As for the officers outside the hotel it was discovered that they were consulting with Justin's security team on crowd control.

He better film quickly, get his parts right the first time and get out of dodge! :-)

Federal Government Requests for Bodies Of the Four Nigerians Executed In Indonesia

The Federal Government has condemned the execution of four Nigerians by Indonesian authorities over drug-related offences, despite pleas for clemency by President Goodluck Jonathan, describing it as a disappointment.

The government however extended its condolences to the families of the deceased, demanding the repatriation of the corpses of the executed persons for them to be given a decent burial in their various communities.

A terse statement on Wednesday night from the Public Communications Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, gave the names of the executed Nigerians as Martin Anderson, Okwudili Oyatanze, Jaminu Abashin and Sylvester Obiekwe.

The government however warned all Nigerians to desist from drug trafficking and other offences, which attract maximum punishment in several countries of the world.

The statement read, “The Federal Government of Nigeria has received with deep disappointment, news of the execution of four Nigerians, Messrs Martin Anderson, Okwudili Oyatanze, Jaminu Abashin and Sylvester Obiekwe by the government of Indonesia for drug-related offences.

“These executions have taken place despite spirited pleas for clemency made at the highest level by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and more recently Ambassador Aminu Wali, Minister of Foreign Affairs,on April 21, 2015, during the 10th Anniversary of the.New Asian-African Strategic Partnership Summit, which took place in Jakarta, Indonesia.

“The Federal Government wishes to express its condolences to the families of the deceased. It has asked the Indonesian Government for the repatriation of the remains of the executed persons, so that they can be accorded decent burial in their various communities.

“The Federal Government seizes this opportunity to once again, warn all Nigerians to desist from drug trafficking and other offences that attract maximum punishment in several countries of the world. The Federal Government will continue to promote the welfare and protect the lives of Nigerians abroad, no matter their circumstances.

“Furthermore, government is committed to engage the government of Indonesia and other friendly countries regarding the conclusion of Prisoner Transfer Agreements and other bilateral means of safeguarding the interest and welfare of Nigerians.”

The convicts were reportedly taken to the
Nusakambangan Island where they were executed by firing squad on Tuesday evening.

Abashin was said to be homeless in Bangkok when a new “friend” offered him $400 to take some clothes to Indonesia.
He was nabbed in Surabaya with 5.5kilogrammes of heroin and sentenced to death in 1999.

Australia withdraws her ambassador from Indonesia following the execution of the Bali 9

Indonesia’s attorney general HM Prasetyo says the withdrawal of the Australian ambassador from the country is only “momentary”.

The Netherlands have done the same thing in the past. Brazil has done the same thing. I think this is just a momentary reaction, and this will be settled within the diplomatic sphere. What we are doing is carrying out the court decision. Every case should have an end.”

Speaking Wednesday morning to a group of journalists after inspecting the execution site with the national police chief, Commissioner General Badrodin Haiti , Prasetyo offered his condolences to the families of the eight men executed but said the executions were necessary.

I would like to say that an execution is not a pleasant thing. It is not a fun job. But we must do it in order to save the nation from the dangers of drugs. We are not making enemies of the country from which the executed last night came from. What we are fighting against are drug related crimes.

Therefore, I would like to offer my condolences, on the execution of those who were on the death row, to their families, to their home countries. Once again, we are not against the countries, but we are fighting a war against the horrible drug crimes that threaten our nation’s survival.

"Don't take us for granted" Ex-militants warns APC,Buhari

Even as the All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised to sustain certain agencies of government to keep up with development in Niger Delta, ex-militants from the region have cautioned the incoming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari not to tamper with the programmes of the outgoing Jonathan’s government.

Speaking under the aegis of Niger Delta Salvation Front (NDSF), the ex-militants alleged that their kinsman and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, lost the election to international conspiracy and further accused the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega, of playing a regional/ethnic card in the just-concluded general elections.

The statement signed by Victor Tamara and Michael Akporode, National Coordinator and Public Relations Officer of the group respectively, reads in part:

“We are members of the Niger Delta Salvation Front(NDSF), a new grand coalition of ex-militants and agitators from all the Niger Delta states.

“We have watched keenly the recent developments in the country- that is the general elections, especially the presidential election, and the hurried concession by our brother, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“We are compelled by these developments to issue this official statement -our first on the matter- which represents our views and stand on the elections and the issues arising there-from.

“We note, unlike the position of some skewed international observers and the media community, that the general elections were not free and fair, and do not meet with best international standards for electoral conduct. For instance, the Card Readers adopted by the Jega-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were systemically used to disenfranchise many people of Southern origins who likely would have voted for President Jonathan. Even the distribution of the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) was done in such a way to favour the North, the natural support base of General Buhari.

“But for the President-elect, we want him and his party, the APC to note that we are watching carefully their plans and mission for the Niger Delta. We want them to recall the recent history of the region when crises led to disruption of Nigeria’s oil production capacity and inevitably affected the income accrued to federal, state and local governments.

“ That was because of decade-old marginalisation of the region and her people, who are the chicken that lay the golden eggs.

“In the past few years, some form of peace and stability had returned to the region largely because of the interventionist policies of the Yar-Adua/Jonathan presidency. The policies led to such laudable programmes and agencies such as the Niger Delta Ministry, the Amnesty Programme, … etc.

“ While our people think these governments could have done more, they were nonetheless not unhappy with these programmes and accept them as the irreducible minimum conditions for peace in the region.

“Therefore, any attempt to scrap these programmes and agencies and marginalise the people of the region because they voted for the PDP would certainly lead us back to those days when Nigeria could barely pay salaries because of poor production output.

“We are not issuing threats, only a warning: That if you create the conditions for trouble in the Niger Delta through marginalization in the scheme of things, then be prepared to reap what you sow. He who sows the wind should be prepared to reap the whirlwind. A word is enough.”

But Daily Sun checks revealed that the APC while unveiling its blueprint had enunciated programmes that would redress the socio-economic inequality plaguing the oil producing communities in the country.

Some Lies most Ladies want Us to believe About Them

I've heard ladies say this and more. To be candid, I don't believe most of 'em (My opinion though ) Whereas, an infinitesimal minority are real about it, a huge majority are simply thriving on these lies.

Well, I'm speaking both from experience and knowledge...

What Are Some Lies Most Ladies Wants Us To Believe About Them:

(1). Ladies Are More Faithful Than Guys

By now you know the truth na Female eagles may be but not ladies.
Our ladies find it fun and thrilling dating more than one guy.
They call it, "EXPLORE".

(2). I'm Doing You A Favour By Being Your Girl

Whether implied or verbalised, this is a fallacy. The population of girls can comfortably triple the number of guys in your environment. Meaning, you can chose. You have the luxury to select. That's why you shouldn't kill yourself over one girl Chyke, if she misbehaves, swerve! You're too big for that joor.

(3). Guys Enjoy Intimacy More Than Girls

Of course, by now we know the truth. It's obvious girls enjoy it more I speak from... *clears throat*

(4). I'm Not Good at recognizing Faces

Hmm... 10% are sincere, 30% are due to eye or psychological problems and 60% are not true. All those one na forming technique abeg.

(5). I Don't Eat Much/ I'm Watching My Weight

Iffa hear! Guys used to lead in this area until this millennium. The "I'm on a diet " sentence is one of the biggest lie ever. Why? Girls who are watching their weight don't go about announcing it.

(6). I Can Get Any Guy I Want

Any little issue, they wanna dump him because they feel they can get any guy they want. Ironically, they're are still searching. Research has it that about 75% of pretty girls are still single.
Why? Too much forming only to "lay low" for another

At last, Indonesia Executes 8 Prisoners Including 4 Nigerians For Drugs Offences

Eight convicted drug smugglers have been executed by firing squad in Indonesia.

The executions took place in Besi prison on the island of Nusakambangan early on Wednesday morning local time.

However, the execution of a ninth convict, a woman from the Philippines, was postponed at the last minute.

Among those killed were Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran. Earlier, the men's families were allowed to see them for the last time.

Australia had appealed to Indonesia to delay the executions, citing alleged flaws in how their case was prosecuted.

After the executions, Steven Ciobo, parliamentary secretary to Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, tweeted: "There are few greater displays of abuse of state power and regressive thinking than the death penalty."

Those put to death also include Nigerian nationals, a Brazilian and an Indonesian.

Filipina woman Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso was also due to be executed, but this was delayed after a request by the Philippine president, a spokesman from the.attorney general's office told the BBC.

The request came after someone suspected of framing Veloso to carry heroin into Indonesia surrendered to police in the Philippines, the spokesman went on.

'A miracle'
Indonesia would give Veloso the chance to testify as a witness in the trial in the Philippines, the spokesman said.

Her mother described the last minute reprieve as a "miracle".

"We are so happy, I can't believe it. I can't believe my child will live," Celia Veloso told Philippine radio station DZMM.
A Frenchman also convicted of drug offences, Serge.Areski Atlaoui, has also been sentenced to death but has an appeal outstanding.

Earlier, the eight prisoners were allowed to spend their final moments with their families.

Relatives of Chan and Sukumaran were visibly distressed and Sukumaran's sister collapsed and had to be carried to the prison.

Australia had urged Indonesia to delay the execution of its two nationals until a corruption investigation into their case was complete.

Chan and Sukumaran, along with seven other Australians, were arrested in Bali in 2005 for trying to smuggle more than 18lb (8.2kg) of heroin from Indonesia to Australia.

The pair were later found to be the ringleaders of the group and sentenced to death. The other seven members of the "Bali Nine" are currently serving either life or 20 years in prison.

Indonesia has some of the toughest drug laws in the world and ended a four-year moratorium on executions in 2013.

It says it takes a hard line because of the country's own drugs problem - 33 Indonesians die every day as a result of drugs, according to Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency.

Another long trip in honour of Buhari "But this time on a bicycle from Kaduna to Lagos"

A 35-year-old Kaduna-born cyclist and supporter of the president-elect Gen Buhari and Professor Osinbajo, Mohammed Kabiru Jafaru, has embarked on a bicycle ride from Kaduna to Lagos to meet with the vice president-elect, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in Lagos State as a way to show his appreciation to the Yorubas for voting en-mass for the Buhari-Osinbajo ticket during last election. Mohammed started his journey to Lagos at exactly 6: 35am at the palace of Sarkin Hayin Malam Bello, Alhaji Kabiru Isa Gangarida yesterday April 27th.

The decision to undertake the journey came to my mind after analysing the votes cast for Buhari by the Yoruba people and after I discussed my intention with my immediate family and friends, they encouraged me to go on the journey.”he told journalist

Funny" Taunting resignation letter that went viral

This resignation letter was shared by a reddit user and it went viral immediately it hit the internet, lol.

Bode George takes himself too seriously- Tinubu

Bola Tinubu
Bode George

In a last week interview Chief Bode George, the Peoples Democratic Party leader in Lagos state, narrated how the APC leader once apologized to him:

“Otudeko was also there and he said, ‘today at the burial of our mutual friend, Arisekola, we should end our hostility’ and I told them that he was involved in the conspiracy to lock me up. They called Bola, he shook my hand and said he was sorry. It was in public. Since then, if we meet in public, we greet each other but our concepts of politics are different.”

In reaction to the claim, Dare insisted that George’s words should be taken as the meditations of a man in search of political relevance.

Dare told Vanguard on April 27, Monday:
“Bode George takes himself too seriously. He is in search of political relevance, which has since deserted him.”

He further continued:

“To seek political rehabilitation through a bogus claim that Tinubu begged him for forgiveness is unexpected of a leader like him.

“Tinubu bears Bode George no ill feelings. Although Bode George has used every media interview to attack Tinubu, Tinubu has hardly responded.

“The task of nation building, presently at hand, is more urgent than this distraction.”

Earlier this year the PDP leader made the news as he insisted that he would consider going into exile if Muhammadu Buhari won the presidential election.

Afther Buhari’s victory Tinubu mocked George’s claim saying that he could relocate wherever he wants already tomorrow.

Boko Haram is a fraud- Gen. Buhari

A statement from Gen Buhari signed by his media aide, Shehu Garba.

"The fraud called Boko Haram can be defeated by denying it a recruitment base," General Buhari told visiting leaders of Nassarawa State who came to congratulate him on his emergence as President-elect. No religion allows for the killing of children in school dormitory, in markets and places of worship. They have nothing to do with religion. They are terrorists and we are going to deal with them as they deal with terrorists anywhere," he announced.

Buhari said he is greatly pained by the destruction of schools in the North-eastern part of the country, an action he said could deny thousands of youngsters access to education and a better future unless something was done urgently to avert this tragedy.

"The worst thing anybody can do is to deny children access to education. That will be destructive to their lives and we are not going to allow that to happen," the President-elect assured.

He announce that his government will help the states to get more money to improve infrastructure by ensuring that all federally collectible revenues are paid directly into the federation account and each tier of government given its due share.

"As at now, the government does not even know how many revenue accounts it has. We will give all the tiers what is due to them but will hold them to be accountable as we would the federal government."

Buhari while describing Nassarawa state as his own "political laboratory", meaning the only CPC-controlled state of the 36 others adjudged the experiment as having been a success.

"From one state, I now have 22 political laboratories."

He commended Governor Al-Makura for surviving his many impeachment plots, saying "without Nassarawa, there would not have been an APC."
