A lot has been said, many already registered in our history books but so far Dr. Jonathan have to be celebrated for conceding defeat peacefully, we don't have to celebrate moments after crisis, we must learn to emulate our peaceful co-existence, after much ado, lessons have been learnt, I could remember going through daily headlines on facebook.com/eniolaopeyemidaddie, I read the apology plea from the outgoing president but a review of the outgoing regime is important for us not to repeat the same in years to come.
In governance, experience really counts a lot plus doggedness in handling the aides, appointees, political office holders and most especially the cabals, the laissez - faire altitude of the C in C was taken advantage of by the corrupt individuals to further drag the president's image into mud, they cook stories, write scripts and stage plays in order to get the president's nod at their own selfish peril.
The evil that befell the country during the Dr. Jonathan's led regime was just too awful, an example was the employment scam aimed at employing the unemployed Nigerians into the immigration service which later had scores dead, at first, why must a ministry under the president and supervised by minister Abba Moro sell forms to get people employed? The government officials extorts the unemployed youths through means of employing them for jobs that isn't available, till this present moment, no one is held responsible for this misfortune, the minister wasn't questioned nor sacked, he still enjoys free movement and usage of the government's properties gotten from the masses taxes and common wealth.
The petroleum ministry is the easiest means at which funds can be siphoned in Nigeria, the minister was said to be the next to the president as the portfolio is one of if not the powerful and influential ministerial position in the country.
The NNPC under this ministry is responsible for the management of oil in the country, this is where corruption is born, breed and cultured, the figures of money that went missing under this ministry's watch is just unending but yet there is no justice done.
The present fuel scarcity saga suffered by Nigerians is just as a result of few people's actions who mismanaged our commonwealth but what is suppose to be the action of a responsible president of a responsible nation where all multinationals are shutting down, citizens living in pains, the power sector shut down?
The exposure of the scams under the NNPC and the non - remittance of funds as exposed by the former CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, led to his witch haunting until he was forced to leave but the story still remains that President Jonathan leads the country like he runs his own family but even in a case of a family, if a father ruins the family through mismanagement, the children will be left with no option than to challenge the father.
Now, we are hopeful to see stealing as corruption after May 29, I believe things will not be further misinterpreted, every events will be accountable and the country will no longer share part of its territory with insurgents, hitherto, the full handover of the government and every other necessary details and necessary information will not just help General Buhari but will be helpful to the constructive critics and the nation at large.
Recently in a dialogue meeting at Abuja when Tony Blair the former prime minister of united Kingdom was a guest of the President - elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, during the two-day Policy Dialogue on the Implementation of the Agenda for Change, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the vice - president elect put the nation’s local and international debt profile at US$60bn with a 2015 debt-serving bill of N953.6bn, representing 21 per cent of this year’s budget.
He noted that an estimated 110 million out of the nation’s over 170 million population, were living in extreme poverty while the largest chunk of the benefits of the nation’s wealth w [truncated by WhatsApp]
